Now there is a little disclaimer that I should make; all the content that you are about to read is a self amazement and discovery of how lively a character can be, and all is written by a guy that got himself into engineering course by impulse only to discover that his real passion is art.

So yeah, Disney.

The magic of Disney's characters is that they are very very expressive and lively, all illustrated with a few powerful strokes of a pencil (or so I thought at first). Here you can see the grandmaster Glen Keane demonstrates:

And so I thought "hey its not that hard, lets do this. Lets draw like Glen Keane. Lets study some screenshots from the internet and start sketching like a pro".

SO VERY WRONG.

After pages and pages and pages of full-assed sketches of seemingly, what I thought, is Rapunzel, turns out to be someone else entirely. Most of them looked like men with wig, some looked like anime+western hybrids while the rest of them are destroyed from excessive erasing/re-sketching out of frustration. And soon I realized it has been several years since I last sketch and what I am doing now is like trying to go to the moon with a potato.

So, back to ground zero and start all over again; by referencing sketches from the concept art by the great Glen Keane.

Result of continuous erasing and re-sketching.

And constant darting back and forth between the screen and the paper.

Only when I started to copy the sketch then I realize there is something you will have to know before you can bring life to a character;

You need a basic idea of facial anatomy and how it works. How the cheek muscles work. How eyebrows can be quite flexible. How nose bridge can give the illusion of where the character is looking at. How to draw eyes, lips, nose, ears, hairs, eyebrows. How the lower part of the face is more flexible than the top. And most importantly, how you want tell your story with an expression.

And once you got all that, you will need to execute them in unison.

Take for example the side view sketch of Rapunzel with her eyes closed. Here, you can tell that she is slightly amused and annoyed at the same time. Or you could imagine her holding a cute dog and the dog is licking the tip of her nose, and now her expression will be of amused annoyance because of excessive cutesy. And also this expression can be an in-between animation still for a coming 'shock' emotion. Or she is trying really hard to close her eyes when Flynn tells her not to look at the surprise he is about to give her.

All that can be told just from the way the exaggerated reduced distance of her eyebrow to her shut eyelid, the excessive skin from her forced-shut eyebrow on top of her nose bridge, the reduced distance of her smiling lips to her nose, the slightly puffed up cheeks due to her smiling, and also notice how her lower jaw is kind of jutting out along with her nose bridge slightly curving upward, and her nose tip is slightly tilted upward. And also notice that her overall face structure did not change at all! (as you can compare with the faceless sketch on top of her).

And now if I may direct your attention the the isometric view of her doing the same expression. Now she seemed like she tasted something extremely sour, or she saw a very cute bunch of ducklings afar and cannot help but to go "shooo cuuutteee". With the same expression, you can draw her shoulder closer to her face, and notice how her neck is drawn such a way that it appear "squashed." Notice how her chest is drawn parallel to the center line of her face to give that slouched position. And also notice how her hair flows in a bell-bottom fashion that it seems like she is moving her head down towards her shoulders rapidly that her hair is sort of like "staying in place" due to inertia.

Wooooooh! Not so easy now is it! -____-"

Moving on to Frozen, and the
very beautifully animated sisters Anna and Elsa, one could not help but
to do a reference sketch of them, just to have that little "wow I drew
this" moment with the sketch. So off to copying more sketches!

Anna looking calm and contented

Previously it took me an hour to sketch a side view of Rapunzel but now I managed to cut it down by half with Anna, as they share a lot of similar facial features. Erase Rapunzel's hair, and add braid, you will get Anna! But her jaw is a tad too long here and her hair is very static.

Elsa looking confident and playful

Confident with Anna, I tried to sketch Elsa but this time she set me back an hour. Mainly because of her hair and how she poses in the original sketch by Disney. In the original sketch, she is looking behind with her back facing the viewer, but I could not replicate the illusion due to her hair and positioning of her ear and jaw line. Her hair is also extremely static and blocky, and her bottom eyelid should still have visible skin if viewed from the side (as shown in Anna's sketch above). I left her in this state as a self reminder of how disastrous it can be if you tried to do a blatant copy from a sketch.

Elsa-ish Princess Aurora

Moving on to frontal portraits, this also is a product of excessive referencing and erasing/re-sketching. I have destroyed her lips before realizing she does not look like Elsa at all, but reminded me of Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)! Maybe due to her longer face and narrower eye sockets where Elsa's face is shorter and she has wider cheeks. But one thing I am satisfied of is how I finish her hair, where this time I just took a glance at the original sketch and finish everything from memory. It looked much more fluid now and "livelier". One of the good reasons why you should let your judgement decide rather than making an exact copy of a sketch.

Princess Anna of Arendelle!

This is the only sketch that made me "hey! this is Princess Anna!". Although this is still a replication of the original sketch, it is way much easier to sketch without looking too much at the subject as I have a rough idea now. Drawing braids and lips are still a challenge though. Also notice how the slight line on her nose bridge follows her direction of her smilling lips (similar as Elsa's).

And so... what now?

I am still going to keep copying these sketches as they are just so fun to do, as you can learn a lot from them just by replicating. We shall continue digging further on what gives life to Disney's characters.

Until then, keep safe and have a great February ahead!

Hahaha
Like attracts like, ying attracts yang, positive attracts negative, Hence they call this the law of attraction (LOA).

Honestly, I am very skeptical about this Law of Attraction thing when I first discovered it a few years ago. "Ask and ye shall receive? Free money out from nowhere? Ladies clinging onto your arms submissively? Success out from little to no effort?... Fsshsh yeah right"

But a little bit of me told myself to try it out. So I did. I've sifted through countless resources on LOA and manage to come out with my very own recipe to attract the stuff I want.

According to the law, to manifest something into your life, you must:

Have a goal/desire; Well, you got to have a starting point right?

Imagine yourself getting the stuff you want: And imagine it as vividly as possible. Imagine a situation where you have gotten the thing you want. Observe your emotions and try to keep it as positive as possible and enjoy every single moment of it. This is also the best part of the process as you can let your daydreaming skills do its thing.

Belief that you will have it: Have a firm believe that you will have the thing you want. Do not ask how you will get it, just know that you will get it.

Let the thought go/Forget about it: THIS is very counter intuitive and quite tricky to get it right. A lot of people did not do this and instead they are stuck with the first 3 steps above. When you do not let your desires go, and you keep on repeating the first 3 steps above, you will close the loop and deny the universe to work its magic. One simple way to explain this is this: Try to imagine you are calling God to order a pizza. He agrees and you hang up. As HE is trying to bake your pizza you call again; "Hello God is my pizza ready yet?" "It will be ready soon my son" He replied. Both of you hang up. And then he tries to walk into the kitchen only to have you calling Him again. And then He will tell you the same thing; "It will be ready soon my son. NOW PLEASE STOP CALLING ME AND JUST LET ME BAKE THAT PIZZA!!!".

And like everyone else, I never got the concept straightaway and it took me few years to understand it. I've always thought that I just need to think of the stuff I want, and I will have it. As time went by, I grew desperate and restless and keep asking myself where the heck is the thing I want, without realizing that I am now releasing desperate energy, which is a negative energy, and this will further delay the manifestation process.

BUT! Only a few days ago when I am admiring my FB photo (which I will show you guys later) and I have realized that I have, in fact, already attracted and manifested a lot of things into my life! And when I went around my house and tried to connect the dots, It became event more eerie that the stuff I always wanted is already there but I forgot all about it (see my point on letting your thoughts go?)

So below are some of my personal LOA success stories to share with you guys.

REVELATION - THE HONDA NSX

This is the picture I was talking about awhile ago, and the picture that inspired today's blog entry. As you can see, it is a picture of a happy chap inside the legendary Honda NSX, a car that is developed throughout the 90's as part of Honda's effort to produce the ultimate sports car in tandem with their involvement in F1. What makes this car so special is that Honda invested a lot of money to produce, research and refine this car, even to the extend of hiring F1 drivers to develop it together, and judging from the picture above you guys will probably agree with me that Honda had did their homework properly.

The story is this, I was back at my hometown to perform my voting rights, and it was my first time voting too so it was kind of a big deal for me. After delivering the votes, my mum suddenly got a call from her friend to hang out at her house, and seeing that we have nothing else to do for the day, we went to her house after lunch. As we were approaching her house in the narrowly famous Kenyalang Park street, this car stands out from the rest of the background and my thoughts were like "Whoa an NSX, better take pictures later".

We parked the car and I stood there awhile admiring the car as my mother walked into her friends house. As I was snapping away with my phone, my mother's friend came up to me and she said this;

"Nice car huh? this is my brother's. Here take this key and drive it around for the afternoon. Be back around 6 so you can pick your mum."

Of course needless to say I agreed! NSX!!! I finally got the chance to drive an NSX!!! And that afternoon I was the prettiest boy around Kuching, and I get alot of stares from the public, and of course I did a few short drag sprints around the traffic lights and the feeling is totally indescribable.

Fast forward a few days later, as I was admiring the photos I have uploaded to FB, I goofed off and stared at my unbuild Tamiya scale model collections that I have next to my desktop. As I slowly shift my gaze around, something caught my sight.

Some scale model that is tucked below and is hidden behind bottles of paints
As I took out all the boxes that were on top of it I discovered this;

The very NSX that I had for over 4 years!

Imagine the face when I discovered this!! And then everything start to come back; 4 years ago I was really into NSXs, and It was my dream to drive one. Funny thing is, I did not have the desire to own it, just drive it. I will stare at the box art everyday before going to sleep, or waking up, and a few quick glance when I pass through my cupboard, imagining how it will feel like sitting inside and driving it. Only when I had bought new models and begin to pile it on top of this one, I had stopped thinking about this car.

THE AVANTE, THE DESKTOP PC, AND MINOR UPGRADES TO THE SATRIA
The Avante is an RC car produced by Tamiya, and was hailed the most sophisticated RC car of its time. Building this car is like assembling a watch, where you really need to be very fine with your movements, and tighten some of the bolts to a specific length, some up to 0.5mm of accuracy!!

Avante Kyoudai by Zaurus Tokuda

I started to long for this car since Primary 4 or 5, Thanks to the manga featuring two brothers with their Avante. I treated that manga like a bible, and read them religiously for years, until it got destroyed by termites. And that is when I stop fantasizing about it.

The Avante is also out of production for close to 20 years, until 2 years ago the good folks at Tamiya decided to re-release it again. Imagine the feeling I had when I saw the news. I MUST HAVE IT!

But then it costs a bomb. RM1500 to get one (USD 450+-). The little one in the picture is still ok, RM 50. As you've know my style, I imagine myself hugging the kit everyday, and will always do a quick Google search for the picture every time I'm on the internet. Live avante, breath avante, sleep avante.

I have contemplated for a good few months before deciding to bite the bullet. Lo and behold, bought this kit on credit. It was a painful purchase nevertheless, or so I thought!!

Now lets keep that pregnant thought here and move on to the next item.

Le desktop PC

Desktop PC! A proper desktop PC! Always wanted one since my laptop "died" on me for a good 5 years. The laptop did help me through my college and degree years and was very grateful for that old bugger. Downside is, I cannot enjoy the latest games with that laptop as it is not powerful enough to render most of it. Have tried to ask for one from the parents for years but we could not afford it.

Similar case to the Avante, I daydream a lot on having myself a proper desktop PC. Even to the extend of buying the tools, as if I have already bought the parts to build a PC. And I even printed the "dream specs" that I want and stick it on the wall, while observing the market price constantly. My mother thought this was crazy, but hey, to me I am just entertaining myself.

When I got my first credit card, you've guessed it, got all the parts on credit. I did think that move was super risky as I just started my working life and getting myself into an early debt is not a very wise move. But somehow I have that faith that it is going to be okay.

AGAIN, keep this thought here and lets move on to the third item(s);

If you have read this and this, and yeah, that was basically all the stuff that went into this car. And the new rims as shown on the picture.

This time, however I did not use any of those imagination trick. All I wanted to do is to get the car track day ready, and I dedicated my savings, paycheck and even bought some of the things on credit. I have nothing on my mind but to make my driving experience with the car even better.

AND SO, HOW THE THREE OF THEM ARE CONNECTED TO EACH OTHER?

We have been surviving on Alimony payments from dad for over 2 decade now, and as I have already entered the workforce, he have to give another final grand amount to "end it once and for all". I did not know about this until one day he called my mum and told us about this!

The amount, suffice to say, cleared all my debts!!! I was a happy goat back then but when I think back of it, I have attracted all three of these things into my life and technically, I did not pay a single cent! Now how do you explain that?

NOT. A. SINGLE. CENT. SPENT, And I got all the things I have wished for. That was another holy cow omgwtfbbq moment I had with Law Of Attraction!!

The universe works in a myriad of ways, often unthinkable and will present itself to you in the least expected time. And I strongly belief this concept of "Ask and you shall receive" as it has already proven in a lot of ancient scripts, such as the Bible and the Book of I Ching to name a few.

I will reserve more success stories for the second post, as this is as far as I can type for today!

Thank you, Stay Safe, Stay Awesome!

And take care.

If driving a race car is not enough, they gave you several race cars to try. This alone made me really detached for a few days. Unreal. I have always wanted to drive a race car, and become a professional racing driver since my primary years. As I grow older (especially after I got meself trapped in a rat race), I just kinda let that thought seep away, thinking it is not possible anymore.

And then comes Michelin.

Yes, getting to drive a race car is a guaranteed must-try-to-believe experience, but the service Michelin had provided us prior to the main event is just a little bit too much. In a good way.

Put it like this;few days before the main event, a Michelin personnel calls me and asked me how am I doing. I was very surprised! It has been many moons since I heard "Jeff, how are you?"

The world gets colder and colder by the day (where my social anxiety disorder just make it worse), and to have a complete stranger calls you and asked you how are you is like receiving a cookie and a kiss from spongebob's grandma. It is just so warm.

We chat a bit, and the topic is basically just a mini interview, "what are you going to do", "calm down and enjoy the coming weekend".... that kind of stuff. Hung up and I spent my remainder working days like a cheeky child who got the toy he wanted for christmas.

And to add another cherry on the icing, Michelin booked us an expensive room for the stay. This is the most expensive room I have ever stayed in my entire life so far.

This room is very erotic in nature. You can perform naughty stuff inside the bathroom for your special one to see.

Now I won't describe what we did the entire next day, as I have a video to do the explaining.

What amazes me most is their hospitality, and it really shows as they are known for their Michelin Guide, where the top hotels and restaurants are dying to be featured in their annual guide books. You can read it more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelin_Guide

For the entire day you are treated like a spoilt princess. This is what they actually did to us:

1. They will put on your racing equipments for you (except the suit, because it is too awkward to strip infront of them.)

2. They will wipe your sweat off your face. You just have to stand still and close your eyes. Lols.

3. They fan you when they is no fan around the area.

4. They constantly asks you if you are comfortable.

5. They hired five star restaurant just to cook a lunch for you. Needless to say, the food was awesome! (where will you get a 4-inch tall burger that looks exactly the same as most commercial burgers that is advertised on the media).

6. They will shade you with an umbrella if they caught you wondering around under the sun.

7. The professional race car drivers were very down to earth, and willing to share and guide you. (Most race car drivers I have met have this "Don't touch me, I am a race car driver" aura around them. Interestingly, only Malaysian race car drivers. Not the foreign ones.)

8. You will get lots of photographers following you around. ( a nice way to psych you up, thinking you are famous or something)

9. Everyone is extremely friendly, as if they are your best friends from childhood.

10. And the souveniers they gave you is not those typical here-you-go types of souveniers. Check these out:

10. To sum it all, they are dying to serve you, and give you the best experience you ever had for your entire life.

And they have succeeded. Even as of yesterday, my mum still said that she had the best time in her entire life during that day. Hearing this from a 54 year old is not a joke. Not even her wedding ceremony, or the birth of me can even top this. I am even thinking of selling my newly bought Bridgestones for a new set of Michelins.

This is how bloody good Michelin had did their job.

My point of all this is that if you could treat your customers as another fellow human being and not just a customer, you will have more success in business. Sell your experience and solutions to your customers, not your product!

What I thought was corn on my sole turns out to be plantar's wart. Now I wont show you the picture of the wart when it is still alive, because it is gross. Google is your friend but you have been forewarned.

It was hell for the first two months when the wart developed. It is tender and at the same time it is thickening itself with layers of skin quite rapidly. Trimming the skin is painful sometimes as they are fine veins developed within the wart. The wart have rooted itself deep into my sole. .

Over the counter salicylic acid does not seem to work and it got even worse as it seems to accelerate the skin formation. Up until the good people of the internet swore by banana peels.

The routine is simple. Cut a banana peel ( best to use young bananas) to the size of the wart, tape the peel (with its inside facing the wart) and leave it there for as long as possible. Change it when the peel turn black. I taped the peel before sleep and took it off before going to work.

The first few days I did not see any changes, apart from the banana peel turning very black. Then on the second week of the treatment, something happened.

The perimeter area around the wart start to get very itchy and no matter how much I scratch it, the itch is still there. Few more days of itch, the wart started to turn darker and skin formation seems to slow down.

Upon fourth week of banana peels the wart turned dark, and interstingly the banana peel will not turn bad anymore. So I stopped applying banana peel and left if for few more days.

Then one afternoon while checking the wart, I noticed an edge which I know I can lift the wart off. So I tried to 'dig' the wart out slowly, and when I do not feel any pain at all, I flipped the dead wart out! It feels like scraping the dead skin off your recovered wound and it feels awesome.
The dead wart. WARNING! You must dispose this very safely or else you might infect your loved ones. This contains HPV virus, which Im pretty sure I got it a few months back when using some shady public toilets back in my hometown, which I accidentally stepped on the wet dirty floor.
Engine conditioning!!

Yes the engine needs conditioning too, much like our hair. Especially second hand cars or cars that have clocked in more than 50000km, where layers of traffic residue can built up within the engine internals. Perhaps the pictures below can illustrate my point further.

What you see above is the throttle body (not mine, but I stole it from the seller's advertisement page) and as you can observe the area right after the valve is black, and it runs all the way into the internals.

The throttle body controls the amount of air that is fed into the engine, and a dirty throttle body means that the engine will have to burn more gas just to compensate for less air/interrupted air flow. Imagine you have to breathe twice as hard when you have a flu.

Not only that, in some cars there will be some sensors located beyond the throttle body, and when the sensors is coated with traffic residue, the ECU might receive inaccurate reading from the sensors and voila! You will have less power with even poorer fuel consumption.

What ThreeBond Engine Conditioner does is simple; it soaks into the the black residue and evaporates into find foamy particles, and the engine will burn it off into clouds of white smoke. This will indirectly clean the piston chambers as well. Shown below is a clean throttle body;

Shiny!

After the treatment the Neo is rather sluggish on the way back home, and it feels like something is choking its 'windpipe'. But what I notice is that engine noise is reduced significantly, and the engine is very responsive. After a few good driving days the choking sensation is gone, which I think there are some foam residues left inside, before being sucked out from the engine completely.

It doesn't stop there. Before the treatment, I can only travel to my workplace and back for three days with RM30. After treatment I get an additional day before refuel. My office is located some 24++ km away, to and fro means a total of 50+-km per day, and I get an extra 50km with a cleaner engine, how neat is that?!

But at the same time I found out that I have bought a car with an accident history, and from the looks of the weld inside the engine bay I can tell that it is quite a big one. Felt like a sucker for not checking it properly before signing the papers.

Meet the Neo, one of the rare breeds of our highways as no one will bother spending their money to buy a 2 door car nowadays, except for Ah Bengs and racer-boy wannabes (yours truly).

Now the Neo you see up there is different as it spends most of it time sucking in exhaust fumes, and spent its first 3 months of its life crawling along the LDP highway.

I have decided to give this car the proper treatment it deserves, and transform it into a proper street legal track car. But of course this will be done in a very long time span as the owner has no immediate cash to burn.

Before I go down the list of what I have in mind to mod this Neo, I will tell you the damage that is already done by the previous owner.

It is just sad that most of the drivers out there treat their cars as solely cars, some magical being that feeds on dinosaur liquid and can get them from point A to B. They forgot that cars, like humans, consists of 'internal organs' that drives it forward. If one component fails, it will no longer be a car. Take out the liver out from a human, he will no longer be a human.

Now below are the things I have discovered so far (hopefully no more):

1: The Neo started its life as a RED car. Well, I am okay with the color change but some of the interiors are not properly touched up and that is why I know it was a red car.

2: Previous owner fed the car with tap water instead of proper coolant, which caused the radiator to rust inside out. Things were not bad at first, but when we brought up the rusty water issue with the car dealer, they offered to do a radiator flush and things went downhill from there. The mechanic did a half-assed flushing job removed the thermostat and he insisted that it is useless. The next day, I have noticed the car took longer time to warm up and I ranged my uncle for his opinion, which he then said that the mechanic that took the thermostat out should not be a mechanic at all. To cut story short, I installed the thermostat back with a different mech, but another new problem arise. The radiator fan now runs constantly after reaching optimum temperature, but will not go overheat. Somehow the ECU thinks that the car is overheating and constantly instructing the fan to work overtime. BUT when I remove the thermostat again the fan behaves normally. What I suspect now is that the coolant are circulating too slow. Now this could mean: A CLOGGED RADIATOR due to BAD FLUSHING, or my water pump is going out.

3: Previous owner changed the alarm system. I mean what the hell. Why go for those fancy silent alarm system when the original one have immobilizer and all. I don't understand. Because of that I got a bootleg key which says "ITACO" on it. Apparently my car is the ITACO SATRIA NEO. Did I mentioned I only got A key? Yes, I only got a key. Just one. Previous owner sure have a bad habit of losing things.

4: Previous owner installed Ah Beng Exhaust, Rims, Stereo system, Steering. I can live with the exhaust and the rims were pushing the limits but I ripped the goddamn tweeters off and changed the steering to the 14 inch Nardi I had for quite some time.Trust me if I upload the old steering wheel your eyes will bleed bricks.

..and I changed the knob as you can see as the previous knob is damaged. There is an accidental discovery when I install the gear knob. Now, as you can see from the picture above, the shifter actually sits off-center in neutral position, so the black base plate will be off-centered by logic. But I found out that the base plate was installed backwards (which I suspect might be a installation error back at the factory) No wonder the gear change was spongy and stiff from 4 to 5th, the plate was limiting the movement of the shifter!!! Popped the plate back in place, and the shifter is now free to go wherever it wants to go. But from 1 to R only lah trololo.

5: Previous owner did not change lubricant, transmission oil, spark plugs, filter and all the vital consumables.
I found out about this when I had the Neo serviced for the first time.
The air filter is clogged and dirty as hell, and the lubricant is darker
than black. The car was given a new lease of life when driven out from the workshop. How can one be this ignorant on basic car maintenance?? It is like feeding peanuts to a horse and expect it to run all the way to Siberia. And when the horse died of exhaustion, he will then curse the horse for being unreliable.

And so, starting from next month, I will give this car the proper treatment it deserves. Below are some of the things I think is enough for this year's satria neo track car project kick start.

1: ADVANTI 15 Inch Rim and 195/50/R15 RE001 Bridgestone Tires. I actually planned this to be the last upgrade for 2012, but my fellow colleague is letting go of his advanti rims and fresh tires at an unbeatable price. Can't say no when he agreed to accept my installment payment offer. HehHeh.
Heres a rough idea of the rims and the tire.

2: Grounding wires and Voltage Stabilizer. The Neo is famous for its pubertal hormonal imbalance so this might push the car faster towards adulthood. I am now eyeing at a particular DIY Voltage stabilizer and grounding wire over at the LowYatNetwork Forum.

3: Timing Belt Service, Bosch Platinum Spark Plugs with Cable. This is actually a mandatory service, and also an upgrade opportunity. But I'm still researching on what spark plug cables to go for but currently I have the R3 model in mind.

Lightened Crank and Water pump pulley. With this the engine will be relieved of parasitic drag, as these pulleys are a whopping 70%~90% lighter than the original pulleys. Less rotational mass, less effort needed to rev up. Will either go for Works Pulley or generic lightened pulley and R3 for the water pump pulley.

Torco Sr-1 lubricant and RedLine transmission oil. Torco lubricant is the jesus juice of all lubricants. The Neo is hungry for the juice. And the RedLine will keep the gears happy with all the years of abuse.

And last but not least a complete radiator upgrade to:

Forged Racing Aluminium Radiator. I am a little heat-phobic. I do not like my rice served hot. Therefore I want the Neo to be as cool as possible. Maybe the fan will be upgraded to a more durable one. We will see how it goes.

Goal is to make the car ready for a track day next year. With few more upgrade will try my luck in Saturday Night Fever series (fingers crossed).

Well, if you think the upgrades I've made above have better alternatives please let me know as well!

To date, I am actually too lazy to compile it together. It is just so tiring after a day of work facing the office computer , just to come home and face another computer.

Life is just so sluggish and uninspiring nowadays, with me waking up everyday repeating the same thing. I think my body can even repeat my daily task for me, even if you beat me unconscious. Muscle memory and thing. Bah.

What actually keeps me a little bit alive everyday is the expectation of something great is going to happen--- eventually.

Oh, if you happen to visit my blog from my YouTube account, I am actually working on a new music video, have a little sneak preview. Do shoot me with any opinions.

And I got mixed up again with the grouping system, this time round I was chucked into group B, and they gave me kart #5.

Bah I give up on finding out how they group people.

Kart #5 has the best seat among all the karts at CityKarting, mainly because my fat ass can sit comfortably in it.

But as usual, the engine is soooo weak, and the feeling when you are on the accelerator is akin to a rooster cock-a-doodling while having its throat choked. Or again, it can be my extra fat around my waist. Just saying.

Too add icing to the cake, mother nature decided to join in the fun, wetting the entire circuit at the night before the race.

The track is semi wet, while some part of the track may appear deceivingly dry but the kart will loose traction mysteriously once you drive across that part. It may be a case of spilled oil on the track.

but it was FUN I TELL YOU!!!! Managed to execute some drifts around the corners and the rest were a bad case of understeer.

So I managed to squeeze a measly 6th fastest time from my first qualifying

For the second qualifying session I was given kart # 19.

Kart #19 has the best handling out of all the 80cc karts I have driven there, mainly because of the proper camber setting. Most of the time I am able to steer the kart to its grip threshold, with a little hint of good understeer and the feeling is just good around the corners. Stable.

But the engine is much slower than #5. Which defeats the purpose of climbing up the leaderboard.

I managed 7th this time. Mehhhh.

With the track drying up, things were looking good for the main race. I got the chance to choose a fairly good kart, kart #13. Well thats what I thought initially.

Handling wise, Kart #13 is balanced, but fails at engine performance. Or it could just be my extra fat. Yes I think it is time to loose weight.

Nothing extraordinary happened during the race, except one part when a girl in front of me understeered and spun out. I quickly followed suit in a similar fashion, but I managed to steer out from t boning her (lol that sounds wrong) and I ended up in a gasoline-water puddle.

Drove the absolute fish I could, but I can only settle with 15th. FML.

With that, I am dangerously close to lose my K3-70 lead;

LONG POST!)In the spirit of valentines I would like tell a love story (or stories) that is so engaging, and slightly better than twilight, if not worse. Or more or less the same, depending on your mood and taste.

Okay it is not going to be a love story at all, but a very lame poon coon confession/record keeping/whatever.

So this is going to be a pessimistic/negative/looser post. If you are feel warm and cuddly or (insert positive feelings here) inside I suggest you to blink your eyes rapidly this instance. Between the blinks, slowly but carefully hover your cursor to the big x button above. Say hallelujah a few times (I suggest 6 times) and slap yourself in the thigh. Then click the button. You are safe for now.

Or you can just read the entry anyway.

Being a socially awkward guy, I harbored a lot of feelings to a lot of girls throughout my life, and as you've guessed it, I am not good at sharing my feelings and thoughts with her.

As the internet community would suggest, I am a foreveraloneguy.jpg/nerd/lame racoon/looooser.

But you know ah, even though I am shy tahap freddy mercury ultra reversed facepalm, I am faithful punya ok??? I dont do mental gf shopping, if you know what I mean.

So back to the story, I am going to reveal the girls that I like throughout my 23 years of life.

But dont expect me to reveal the names bulat bulat lah, still need to jaga their air muka and my ego okk???

ok??

Okay........ say say...hardo gayyy desu foooooooooooo!

GIRL 1:
This is my first ever crush that I do not know I had a crush on until many years later. She was from my local temple, and I remembered looking forward to Fridays (and the first and the 15th of the lunar month) as these were the only days I could meet her.

She is 3~4 years my senior and rather attractive according to my 9 year old in me. She is tall, soft spoken, has defined facial features and to sum it up, a total girl-next-door.

Every time when I am at the temple I would strike up a lot of courage just to get close to her, and during good days we even talked. I am very sure she treated me nothing more as a little friend but she meant the whole world to me at that time.

One things for sure, it is not love I am experiencing that time, but the feeling of being in the middle of the attention is all Im after, with a dash of puppy crush. She is, after all, quite popular within the boys in the temple.

It was all fun and games until the sect decided to dissolve itelf into smaller groups, and this is when I do not see her again. Even until today.

GIRL 2:
This is the most electrifying, nerve-wrecking, heart crunching, esteem crushing, life changing, and most damaging experience I had ever encountered in my entire life. I would darely say her very own image has been embedded right into my subconscious mind, much like how Mal was in Dom's mind (insert INCEPTION bwahhhh sound effect).

She is a real looker, and boy does she looked good and attractive as hell. I remembered most of my guy friends were head over heels for her, and growing up around her is not easy when your hormones start to fire up (curse you Puberty!!!! Nooooooo). Very hard to 'jaga' the eyes I tell you, If you know what I mean.

Our every day-to-day life between my friends that time is to see who gets her attention first, who managed to make her smile, laugh or however the case a young boy will do to earn a girl's attention.

Don't know If this sounds like a brag, but I think I win most of the time. She always talked to me, stay closed to me, hang out with me, and randomly throw cute and mixed bodily contact (nothing sexual or this will be a case of child porn) to me. And she always called me just to chat, how cute! Life during that time was a total bliss.

Stupid thing is, my puberty brain came out with a very stupid formula:

(girl you like - attention that you should give her = she is attracted to you more)

and therefore I ignored her a lot, not in a bad way, but more of a "meh," way (deep inside I was batshit crazy to get close to her more).

It was pretty effective but as you all know, humans learn very quickly and you won't do something further if you get no result. But I am still too daft and stupid to realize and kept ignoring her.

Until she got a boyfriend.

Hancur berkecai hatiku!!! Stone cold steve austin will even get shock if he heard my heart jatuh to the ground.

Fortunately we still keep in touch on and off. What hurt me most is when I realize (believe it or not, it was sometime last year) the teenage me was so egoistic and daft to pick up the fine language of attraction wafted to me. I blew my perfect chance.

After many moons since I flew across the pond and as expected, the connection died. Recovering the friendship will be almost futile as even the most basic of an online chat is already very dry and awkward.

This girl changed who I was, to who I am today.

I was very chatty before and can talk to any girls, or even anyone. But now I am so reserved and quiet that even my mum asks me to frame myself up so I can be a trophy on the wall. You could say it is the guilt of not appreciating the chance of treating her better that made me this way.

If I can just treat her better, or better still kick the ass out of my teenage self, things will be much better today.

But I must thank Girl#2 as through her I finally understand myself a little bit better.

Thank you If you are reading this, If you know who you are.

GIRL 3:
We never really talk, and we only meet during our tuition session.

She is one of those classier girls (her family's financial background is very strong) and she indeed behaves like one; quiet, elegant, and needless to say very pretty. Like a magnolia in May.

I remembered that I always tried to take a glimpse of her throughout the tuition session, but never talked to her as I am already starting to get really quiet (refer GIRL #2 post above).

Fortunately, the we can have the freedom to choose wherever we want to sit during the tuition, but funny thing is I never tried to sit close to her.

Until one day she decided to sit next to me.

Of all the space she could take on the table, she decided to invade into my area, leaning slightly towards me.

Needless to say, the 3 hour session I got a nervous breakdown. Sweat keep rolling down my face and I was nervous like hell. I could not solve anything that my teacher gave me that night. My hand froze and my mind froze. But she buat tak tahu jer. She kept her cool. I can't remember what I did but I'm pretty sure she wasn't please with it.

After that day, things resumed as usual, with her sitting somewhere within my view, but not as close anymore.

I can see you smacking your forehead right now and saying "what the hell have I just read?!".

GIRL 4:
She is very similar to Girl #3 and I met her during my tuition also (different from where I met Girl#3).

Every guy in the class always talked and joked with her. Every time I see her, she is never alone. There is always a guy seated next to her, talking and joking to her. In short, very popular.

As usual, I stayed aloof and quiet, never tried to talk to her.

Until one day I decided to go to the toilet. To help you better understand the story I have to let you know that the boys toilet is down the hallway and the girls toilet is to the right. So when guys have to go to the loo they have to pass by the girls toilet first.

So I came out from the guys toilet after the usual, and there is this kid who ran so fast towards me without even realizing I am in his way. Without thinking much, I held both of my hands out (like how sumo wrestlers do before the contact) and shouted "beep beep". The little boy looked up and stopped just before he can run into my palms. He then yelled back "you stupid guy", like how every a 6 year old will do, and pushed me aside before dashing of to the toilet.

Right at that moment Girl#4 came out from the washroom and she saw everything, from the beep beep to the you stupid thing. I noticed her and I went:

Surprisingly she gave me a very beautiful smile and chuckled slightly. I replied with a half ass smiled and dashed back to my class.

Then from that day onward she will occasionally looked at me and smile. I sometimes buat tak tahu, but sometimes kena pula dia punya scan so have to smile back.

BUT... as you had and should already know, I never tried to talk to her. To be honest I was a little girl-phobic at this stage, because of Girl #2. But I start to develop feelings for her. Stupid I tell you!

Then came prom/graduation night (yes the tuition school actually organized it, how cool is that?). As usual, I tengah lepak alone near the tupperware juice dispenser as they had the tastiest fruit punch that night and I find myself got addicted to it.

Suddenly she pulled me and chained her arms to mine and dragged me to the dance floor. I was drinking and then I went PHTBBHTHTHTBBHSSHKKK. She did not say anything but dragged me to her girl friends and demanded them to take a photo of us. All the guys were not happy when they saw us taking photo together.

I got panicked as this is the closest encounter I ever had with a girl. We talked a little bit, and after a bit of "I is potato, I tarzan you jane, I is not crasy, I is has good manners", I excused myself as the pressure was too much. Fortunately some guys grabbed the baton (albeit forcingly) from me.

The night ended like that and I never saw her again. But thank you Girl #4 for giving me the attention.

Although this sounded like a cheesy romantic drama but it is real I tell you! This really happened ok?!!!! No pray pray!!

GIRL 5:
Same as Girl #1, I met girl 5 in my local temple. And this is the only girl whom I gave a bouquet during valentines day. It was meant to be a playful gift, but apparently everyone in the temple took this very seriously and even made fun of me.

I do not have serious feelings but seeing her attached to her mum 24/7 reminds me of myself. She is very filial and responsible, and she is just the type of girl that every mum will approve of.

Ok lah, another half of the reason that she made it into this list is that she is tall and slender. I guess I am just attracted to tall girls. Oh, and her megawatt smile. Her smile can seriously relieve your stress and make you happy in an instance. Well, the good type of happy, not the naughty happy.

So I thought I can be a good sport by giving her a bouquet during valentines but things turned out really awkward from then on. We can't talk properly as before and everyone kept making fun of me.

As expected, the connection died when I flew here a few years ago.

But still I want to keep her in this list as she seriously is very down to earth and very lovable. Like Lia. LIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

GIRL 6:
This girl is the daughter of my mother's employer and like any cheesy romantic comedy out there, the daughter of a boss is very attractive and I can relate why those screenwriters kept recycling this formula.

She is the tallest among all the girls I've ever met (a forehead taller than me), and the spiciest among the 6. Well yes, her face may be buried under 3 layers of bobbi browns but her make up kung fu is very good I'm afraid.

I had a chance encounter with her when her dad is out on a 2 day business trip here. Initially when my mum asked me to bring her around KL for a look see trip, I refused!

I pictured her as a nerdy teenage girl as I've seen her dad a few times and yeah, her dad was kind of chinaman-nerdy, so his daughter must be nerdy right? Wohoooo I was so wrong there.

The nerdy teenage girl I had in mind turns out to be a 24 year old bombshell. My mind imploded as I met her for the first time when I brought my mum and her colleague to meet her dad for a dinner meeting.

She quickly introduced herself and talked to me throughout the dinner, as if we are old friends. Well, she do most of the talking where I just nod and replied with my close ended answer. My mind is still recovering from the implosion.

I then brought her out of the restaurant and drove to KLCC. Throughout the journey I was having a hard time concentrating on the road, as this is my first time driving with someone very attractive next to me.

Fortunately she is very good at conversation. We talked and she kept asking me questions. This calmed me down a little as things start to warm up.

I then brought her shopping around KLCC and this is when I got really confused. Ever see how a couple shop together? The gf will always ask the bf if the dress looked good on her, or if the bag matched her shoes. This is what she did! I was like okayyyyyyyy???????????!??? huhhh?????????? yeah it looked good on you.

Yes, It may be a case of shop-buddyzoned.

But what the hell I was enjoying every single minutes of it. Because she is very attractive, I caught a lot of guys checking her out. And then they checked ME out, wondering what the hell does this fugly nerd have that they don't. I am finally enjoying the feeling of bringing a hot girl out. The amount of attention that you get is just phenomenal!!!

We went out again the next day and I spent the whole day accompanying her. The best thing in life seems to go by in seconds and soon enough, she had to fly back to where she came from. I gave her my email add but realistically enough she never add me on Facebook.

Lol who wants a greasy meat for a friend anyway?!

Or I could possibly bore her to death with my extreme social anxiety disorder.

ANDDDD THERE YOU HAVE IT. ALL 6 OF THEM.

What a long and childish post. So sorry to waste your time. Just thought of sharing my thoughts with you.

If you read them all, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Oh, and happy birthday to Jeffu!!!!!!!! Yeayyy!!!!!!!!

So I basically got the gist of how the position system works:

We are divided into two groups; Group A for the faster drivers and Group B for the slower ones.

The grouping system is to ensure fairness among competitors, so you won't have talent inequalities like those sprint races where everyone kena sumbat into one large group, and within half a lap you can see huge gaps appearing between the seasoned and fresh drivers.

But then we will still be racing under our own respective weight class, meaning, You can be placed into group A but you will still be racing under your own weight class (K3-45 for drivers weighing 70Kg or less, and K3-70 for the obese drivers, like yours truly)

So I kena sumbat dalam Group A for qualifying because I have some "seed" points carried over from previous round.

I got kart #13 which was very very good in terms of handling and performance, so I managed 4th quickest time, which surprised me as this is my fastest time ever in that track! After I saw my time on the screen I went Me gusta right until my second qualifying round:

Which turned out not too bad?! This time 6th position. The kart I got this time is very the powderful, but the handling is all over the place.

Straight line speed is stupidly fast, but during corners the kart understeers a lot, which I suspect the caster angle was too much, as I felt there is only one wheel biting during corners. I could not carry a lot of speed into the corners as compared to my previous kart.

So after a bit of math on microsoft excel, this is my final qualifying position;

Got 8th out of 25. Me gustaaaaaaa.

Then come the real race. This time I got a slow kart and they put me into group A, where all the seasoned drivers were in. I was like holy cow die lohhh race with all the buaya how the fish am I going to win and true enough, I inhaled exhaust smoke more than fresh air.

No drama this time, I got overtaken in the straights, and I got second last in group A which is very embarrassing;

So overall, I got 12 place out of 25 drivers grouped together (now cantik abit, at least I look like a midfielder with all those group Bs behind me Ha Ha ha snort fart*)

But what made me so horny like a puppy is that
very. fun. to. drive???!!

It is so wrong!!!! I have never praised Proton cars before and I could not believe I am doing it right now.

The car is stupidly stable in corners. There are few corners where the Myvi can barely take it even at speeds of 80km/h, this bugger can dive in at 110km/h like kacang putih.

What the fishhhh

And the best part, it has oversteer characteristics despite of the FWD layout.

But still, I am not confident with the cooling systems. I am very itchified to upgrade the radiator and fan.
Ok that is all.
Awesome song is awesome indeed. Below are some of my favorites:

To start this entry, MyKart is an active karting group for all karting enthusiast with a tight budget, and they have their own gran prix which is held monthly in Shah Alam Karting Circuit.

Even though the race is targeted towards enthusiasts rather than full fledged karters but I tell you, these people can really drive the gremlins out of their kart.

So yeah why not? I have made a personal commitment to join this series for the rest of 2012 and see how far can I go.

-
-
-
-
-
-
SO, the race goes like this. Drivers are first weighed in order to determine which class they will race in. For those who weigh between 45kg~69kg they will be placed under class K3-45,(K3 being the class of the kart, which in this case is the lower spec rental kart, 10hp @ 80cc 2 stroke) while the heavyweights will be in class K3-70. Needless to say, I kena sumbat in class K3-70.

THEN, the race is divided to 3 heats. Each heats is 8 laps which is just nice (I drove 10 laps once, and believe me, it is physically demanding).

The first two heats is for qualifying purposes, which is to determine the final spot during the actual race. The last heat, well you have guessed it, is the real race.

AND SO! my first qualifying result!

I only managed 9th position with my best time, which is around 1 min18 sec -ish (best time was around 1 min 14 seconds). This is actually considered very good in my opinion, where most of the time I cant even make it to top ten! Susah I tell you!! Serius!!

Which I think I owed my time to the kart I was driving. The engine is very responsive and the steering is very, well..... responsive. And the traffic on the track wasn't that bad, so I can concentrate on driving. The track is still damp in a few places so oversteered and understeered here and there but hey, obamanotbad.jpg when I saw my time!

-
-
-
AND NOW! My second qualifying result!

This is where things start to get interesting. I got a lower performance kart, where the engine seems not willing to rev. The feeling of being overtaken on a straight is just very annoying!! Argh!! I managed to squeezed 14th position out from the kart.

But during the second heat I had a very good dogfight with a guy. We got a similar shitty kart but both of us were not in good terms when it comes to trading positions. He was always defending his racing lines, not allowing me to pass (which in karting rules, one must allow the faster kart to overtake you after several attempts of unsuccessful blocking, I think, lol)

I nudged his rear bumper a few times, outbrake him a few times until finally he raises his hand and allowed me to pass. Successkid.jpg!

So I got 5th place after averaging the time. Not too bad I guess??!

-
-
-
-
-Now moving on to the actual race, where the real fun starts.

The starting position is mirrored according to your qualified position. So to say, if you qualified first position you will start last, so that it is fair to other karters (this is why this kind of a double-edged sword, you can drive slowly during qualifying so that you can start off at front, but you will not earn any qualifying points, which is vital in determining your final final finishing position).

AND SO, I started 7th, from the last. And a whole pack of very talented karters in front of me. The kart I got this time was awesome, which allowed me to gain 8 positions from where I started.

RIGHT until I came across a guy and a girl defending their positions in front of me, with the girl leading.

Being a lightweight, she is very fast on the straight, but both of us caught up to her in the corners. The guy tried to scared her a few times but to no avail. We have an aggressive female driver here!

I managed to switch positions with the guy, which he gladly let me pass. Now I have to do the scaring.

BUT THIS GIRL IS VERY DEFENSIVE

She would not let me pass. She even get into my racing line, forcing me to brake. BUT NO!

I drove into the grass everytime she tries to get into my racing line and I became an agitated bastard. Fine, you don't let me pass I play hardcore.

There are several occasions where I had to drive into the corner bumps (the red and white corner strips which you will always see in a racing circuit). It is not advisable to ride on the bumps as this can cause damage to the kart and the driver as well, but what the heck, the girl just do not give up on defending her line even though she is clearly slower in the corners! What the fish!!

COME THE LAST LAP on the third corner, which I think she purposely braked on the corner exit. THE CORNER EXIT!!!!!

I crashed into her QUITE HARD, as I have no room to brake. Both of us then oversteered. Her being the lighter driver, she recovered from the oversteer quicker and accelerated away like a rocket. I lost a place to the guy who let me through earlier. He gave me a brief raised hands and shoulders, then threw a thumbs up for my effort. LOL!!!

So my final position is a measly 22nd. Which I think is ok ok lar.

And the overall standing for round one is also.... 22nd. Lol.
Looking forward to round two, which is the first saturday of february next month. I will drive better this time!
This is indeed a TL:DR post and I thank you if you really read all of them. It meant a lot to me. Thank you!

If you go TL:DR then thank you for being awesome!! Who wants to read a foreveralone guy's race report anyway?! Thank you!!

I think I have seen this ending style before. LIAAAAAAAAAAA
